Holidays in Tenerife

The Canarian island of Tenerife is a popular holiday destination for British holidaymakers looking for a fun filled break in the sun. Boasting magnificent black sand beaches and plenty to do Tenerife is a great place to spend your holiday. If the lively atmosphere in the south is not for you then the northern reaches of Tenerife are far more traditional, offering traditional whitewashed buildings, cosy restaurants and welcoming bars. When travelling to Tenerife you can be almost certain of glorious sunshine, a warm welcome and great entertainment options. What more could you ask for?

Tenerife - Attractions

As well as the usual traditional and international restaurants, lively bars, bustling markets and exclusive shops that you’d expect in a fantastic holiday destination, Tenerife offers something a little different for your enjoyment. The first thing you might notice are the beautiful beaches, though Tenerife boasts some golden sands there are also black sands which are simply glorious to behold, something a little different in your holiday snaps this year. When you tire of the beach Tenerife has more to offer. First on your list has to be the Monkey Park which boasts chimps, baboons and gibbons which visitors are encouraged to feed and interact with though the monkey park also offers a few other animals to please you. For that exciting day out there is a water park in Costa Adeje which boasts the usual chutes, slides and wave machines and as a little extra incentive there are daily dolphin shows which will have everyone enraptured.

Tenerife - Resort Guides

Costa Adeje offers its visitors a quieter atmosphere than some of its neighbours but is close enough to enjoy a long night out if you fancy it. During the day you can relax on the black sand beach, dipping your toes in the sea when the sun gets a little too hot. For something a little out of the ordinary you can get yourself booked onto a boat trip and while away an afternoon whale watching and dolphin spotting which is sure to keep everyone happy. For land based activities you could enjoy the sunshine whilst playing a few rounds of golf.

Playa de las Americas is the busiest resort in Tenerife and provides a beautiful golden beach and a whole heap of activities to entertain visitors. During the day make the most out of your credit card and enjoy some retail therapy, where you can pick up some bargains for yourself or if you’re feeling generous buy a little something for those left at home. Playa de las Americas livens up further in the evening, when the place to be is Veronicas, this square mile of bars, pubs and clubs offers entertainment well in to the night (and the morning) for those with stamina.

If your holiday is less about pubbing and clubbing and more about spending some quality time with your loved ones then the resort of Los Cristianos may well be the place for you. This delightful resort boasts beautiful beaches where visitors can relax all day and enjoy a refreshing dip in the water when needed. In fact most activity is based around the beach where a number of cafes, bars and restaurants are located on the beach front promenade, fully stocked with fresh fish bought in that morning.

For an idyllic and peaceful resort perfect for those looking to recharge their batteries the resort of Puerto de Santiago is a fantastic choice for your much needed holiday. The beautiful beach is blue flag certified for its cleanliness and is the perfect place to while away the day with a good book. The resort offers a smattering of restaurants, cafes and bars but not much else in the way of evening entertainment, making this area perfect for those who don’t want organised fun, loud evenings or sleepless nights but just want to laze the days away in peace and harmony. Enjoy.
